I got my wedding cake from Williams Bakery! We went in a few months prior and had some cake taste testing... even though I secretly already had my mind made up. This cake is very unique in that it is more dense, like pound cake. I got Almond flavored with chocolate icing, and asked if they could decorate it like tree stumps (as our wedding was centered around trees and natural colors...) It turned out absolutely wonderful!!! They helped me decide on the size of the cake and everything, but weren't too pushy on swaying me different directions! I was even able to change my order a few weeks prior to the wedding when I found out we would have significantly less people than expected... we still had left overs from no-shows, but I'm not complaining!
Love all the items I've had from this bakery (cookies, pastries, and cakes). It's a special place to take the kids for a treat.
I picked out some cupcakes for a birthday party. Half of them were stale- one was almost dried out. Very disappointed, I thought that we could try this local bakery, but I will be suspicious about how "fresh" the baked goods really are.
My husband and I went into this bakery for the first time last week. It was a Friday afternoon around 1p.m. and we were the only customers. There were two female employees behind the counter, and I was eyeing all of the items in the case. Truthfully, they didn't look all that appealing, kind of indifferently displayed, but I didn't want to turn around and walk out. Neither woman greeted us or smiled or made suggestions. I picked out about five different pastries. When we got home we brewed some coffee and started eating the glazed doughnuts. We couldn't finish them. They were slightly stale but beyond that they just weren't good. The chocolate frosted brownie was just too sweet. Now I love my goodies but I expect a bakery to have outstanding brownies with a good chocolate flavor. The chocolate eclair was the best but again, a little old tasting. I could overlook the pastries not being fresh and chalk it up to them just having an "off " day if the customer service had been decent but they honestly acted like they couldn't care less if we patronized them or not. So I probably won't go again. I don't indulge in sweets very often but when I do I expect quality.
Very disappointed!! I went in there to buy a birthday cake for my husband and ended up buying a decorated pound cake and it was decorated very nice but when we went to cut it the center was a piece of decorated cardboard. So I ended up paying $25.00 for a bundt cake and the icing was sickening sweet!! Will never buy another.
