You head to your old house and discover empty rolls of tape and plastic thrown about, several scratches to both your hardwood and laminate floors. Both the front and back doors were damaged, and more than a dozen new scratches and dents on the walls.
After calling and speaking to a representative you explain again that you would like the damages covered. They insist on quotes, and you provide them. After almost three months, they offer you a settlement of 26% of the claim. You’ve tried working with the company and with the BBB, but are getting nowhere. At this point, it’s been over seven months since you moved and you’re still waiting on All My Sons to make this right. You don’t feel like family, like you did when you were in the process of scheduling your move. Instead, you feel like your time was milked for money by a crew that didn’t care if they broke your belongings or disrespected you.
Imagine you have just spent six months building the house of your dreams. You selected a moving company that you thought would do a great job – All My Sons. Just like nearly every other moving company there was a mix of good and bad reviews; but you were swayed by the local manager who was super helpful in answering any questions and making you feel like you were a valued customer –almost like family.
After the move is done, you walk through your brand new house and notice several spots where they hit and damaged several of the walls, found two rips in your vinyl laundry room from where they shoved the washing machine around, which now has two bent feet. You find a damaged door frame with corresponding damage to a large wooden dresser that has been in your family for 4 generations. Not to mention a broken buffet, four damaged bookcases, damaged tool chest, or the 4 pot holes in your brand new driveway.
This place actually worked well for us. Guys came and worked efficiently. Very polite. They were available with only a day's notice. But keep in mind that I only needed help loading, not moving Office staff was friendly. Called a few times to coordinate the move, estimate number of items, etc. Very respectful. I've seem the horrible reviews on line, and they are horrible, but I went with this company because they were available last minute. I was pleased. They came on time. Didn't take smoking breaks, etc. Definitely did their jobs. Office personnel were professional also.
So you call the local manager and the corporate line for All My Sons to let me know how you were treated and what state they left the houses. They told you to document everything and submit a claim. In the initial claim you list all of the household goods damaged as per their request and write a detail account and provide pictures of the damages to the goods and properties. You submit the claim within their seven day window. Two weeks later you receive the first extremely low offer. On the acceptance form they include a statement that upon acceptance you would not say or post any derogatory remarks about the company.
Our move-in experience was painless and stress-free because of the great service we received. I was able to contact the company with questions prior to the move easily, and received answers quickly. Our move-in crew, James, Dante, and Derrick, were so great to work with. They had positive attitudes during a very long day and handled our items with care and efficiency.
During the unload you offer to start bringing some items in since half the crew is MIA. After trip number three you are told that maybe you shouldn’t be lifting a nightstand because you’re a woman. As you carry it upstairs, one of the other crew members sees you and offers to take it because, once again, women shouldn’t be lifting.
The moment I contacted All My Sons, they were responsive and personable. I enjoy good customer service and you will get more than your money's worth with this company and their movers. Our 2 movers, Bee & Eugene, were not only professional, but also courteous and handled our furniture/stuff with extreme care. Next time we move, Bee & Eugene will be our 1st pick from All My Sons!!!
So you’re left standing around watching them unload, you notice a complete disregard for your belongings. They’re quickly sliding boxes down the length of the truck shouting batter’s up, sliding a bookcase along its side down the length of the truck without a furniture pad protecting it.
We have nothing but positive things to say about All My Sons. From the start, our salesman was thorough and accurate in giving us a quote. The movers showed up on time and were motivated to get finished as quickly as possible. We were blown away how quickly they were able to load up our house and unload it into the new house (just about 4.5 hours total!) This is our first time using movers and we will definitely be using All My Sons for any future needs. Our quote ended up being higher than what we actually paid since the guys worked so quickly. Highly recommend!
After reviewing and rejecting their offer and include a breakdown of the cost per item, the estimated cost per repair, and request a refund for the amount of time three of the crew members stood around rather than working. A few weeks later they offer to increase it to about 10% of the total claim.
There were a few red flags you noticed, instead of using furniture dollies or lifting straps, they are individually and manually carrying heavy, large items down. This causes them to drop your washing machine, elliptical, a garage cabinet, almost drop the grill, and scratch your doors trying to get furniture out of the house. They insisted on parking on the driveways, despite your protests.
